Required Player Equipment List
- Offensive Batting Helmet w/Face Guard: Required for all players when batting; fastpitch and youth leagues typically mandate an attached face mask and chin strap.
- Official Softball Bat: Must meet your specific league's certification standards (such as USA Softball) and length-to-weight ratios.
- Softball Glove: Sized to match your position and age (outfielders use larger sizes, infielders use smaller ones). Gloves must be a softball-specific (not baseball) because softball pockets are wider to fit the larger ball.
- Defensive Softball Face Guard (for 8U and up)
- Rubber molded cleats (metal cleats are not allowed ): Molded plastic or rubber cleats are highly recommended for traction. Metal cleats are strictly banned in youth recreational divisions.
- Uniform: Team jersey and softball pants (Team jersey will be provided for games)
Your Coach will inform you on the color of softball pants and socks to purchase.
Protective Gear & Accessories
- Fielding Face Mask: Frequently required or strongly recommended for infielders in youth and fastpitch leagues.
- Batting Gloves: Optional, but helps reduce hand slippage and blistering.
- Sliding Shorts: Padded compression shorts worn under pants to protect hips and thighs when sliding into bases.
- Catching Gear: Includes a helmet with a throat guard, a chest protector, and shin/leg guards. (Only For Catchers and normally provided by the Park)
- Equipment Bag: A duffel or backpack designed with clips or side sleeves to hold bats and cleats.
